Actually, wolfs are social animals.

Ipiki Ookami is simply a stateof forging itself in separation from the grup.
Within 1 year after birth, wolfswill grow as big as their parents.
Someday after living with familiesfor 2 years,
they will leave the group and wanderalone.
Wolfs are able to run forconsecutive 20 minutes at the speed of 70km per hour,
and stalking for consecutive 7 hoursat the speed of 30km per hour.
Such extraordinary endurance andperformance
inspire creators to put shinobi,agents, and samurai
into the image of “Ipiki Okami”.
Wolfs also play as guardians inJapanese Mythology.
For example, “Makami” (literally “TrueGods”) is the apotheosis of wolfs (Makami is also called Oguchikami” or “Goshinken”).
In modern days, the talisman of “Ofuda”that adapts the image of wolfs still remain in Chichibu, Saitama.
