Idea of the Product

Fubutsushi – Fortune-Telling Owl(Red)

Owls, the mysterious birdssymbolizing wisdom.

Let’s relax, and hear the Song of Heritagefrom the forest:

With prosperous feathers and goldenbeak, the wise night owls repel the enemies.

--------------------

Stories of owls spread from countryto country.

In Taiwan, owls are spiritual birdsthat bring “auspice” to people.

In Japan, owls symbolize “blessingof safety”.

The Japanese pronunciation for owlsis “fukuro”, which can mean “without hardship”, symbolizing the hopes for alife without hardship.

In Europe, owls are incarnation of “allwisdom”

and “guardians of the night”,possessing the power of insight and mysteries.

There is also a English slang thatsays “as wide as an owl”.

In Greek Mythology, the sacred birdsof Athena, the Goddess of War, are owls.

In Mexico, owls symbolize the “wealth”.

In Australia, owls are “guardians ofthe female natives”.

In reality, there are 225 kinds ofowls in the world,

spreading all continents except for Antarctica.

Owls hunt the rats at night, makingthem friends to the folks.

Their eyes cannot turn separatelyjust like other kinds of birds,

and so evolve a neck that can turn270 for degrees.

In our local culture, the owl legendof Thao People is the most well-known.

A beautiful Thao girl was pregnantwith her lover, unmarried.

Disgraced by her people, she leftthe tribe and wandered in the wild.

Eventually, she felt asleep foreverin the mountains at a freezing night.

Later, an in-passing hunter foundher

becoming an owl and soared to theheaven.

From then on, any pregnant Thaowomen

can always find an owl hanging onthe roof.

Crowing, the owl seems to give remindingor blessing.

Thao People therefore believe thatthe owl is the incarnation of that girl.

They feel sorry for what has be donein the past, and warn their children not to hunt the owls down.

To this day, Thao People stillobserve the regulation

and believe that owls can makeprediction of women’s pregnancy

or even guide the hunters in themountains, preventing from being lost.

For a long time, owls give animpression of wisdom and mystery.
