From the Designer, Zhang Sen-jie

“Song of Patina” marks the pinnacle of sculptural expression in our ten-year journey. During my time living in Japan, I encountered countless bronze works—none more unforgettable than Kōtarō Takamura’s Statue of a Young Girl by Lake Towada in Aomori Prefecture. Surrounded by ancient forest, that silent bronze figure spoke directly to my soul.

I believe that art and craft heal the weary spirit. With this series, I set “enchantment” as the central theme, letting the Three Gorgons appear in varied, alluring forms to “seal away” anxiety and unrest.

For “Song of Patina,” master painter Chao Jia-Mi draws on the unique tension and venerable patina of aged bronze. This work captures the still, historic beauty of antique bronzes—objects that carry the weight of legend and stand as silent witnesses to time. Gazing upon them, one may find release from the stresses of modern life.

We hope this creation brings you both wonder and respite.
