From the Designer, Zhang Sen-jie

“’Song of Enchantment’ drew me in because of its rich mythic narrative. According to legend, Medusa’s parents were a sea god and a sea nymph, yet her beauty was so extraordinary that Poseidon himself coveted her. Ancient sources—from Homer’s epics to the Theogony—tell parts of her story, but Ovid’s Metamorphoses delivers the greatest dramatic power. In crafting this watch, I centered its theme around enchantment.”

“Based on the designer’s color samples and concept, I created ‘Song of Enchantment.’ Drawing on years of model-painting experience and international exposure, I used micro-scale brushwork to evoke the beauty of the human form within the limited dial space. Introducing avant-garde shades of pink infuses the piece with a sense of seduction and fragrance. Remarkably, this entire miniature painting was done using only a traditional magnifying glass and the naked eye—an art form beyond conventional watch finishing, more akin to fine art creation.”
